How to Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on Your Hosting.gl Account

To better protect your account, we are requiring MFA starting from November 1st. Follow this guide to set it up before it becomes mandatory.

1. Download an MFA App (Authenticator)

You’ll need an app that can generate one-time passcodes (TOTP). We recommend one of these:

  • Microsoft Authenticator: iOS / Android
  • Google Authenticator: iOS / Android
  • Authy: iOS / Android
  • 1Password / Bitwarden – if you already use a password manager with TOTP support.

Recommendation: Use Authy or Microsoft Authenticator, as they make it easier to recover your codes if you change or lose your device.

2. Log in to Your Account

  1. Go to https://hosting.gl/.
  2. Click Login in the top right corner and sign in with your email and password.

3. Go to Security Settings

  1. Click My Account (top right corner).
  2. Select Security Settings.
  3. Find the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) section and click Activate.

4. Scan the QR Code with Your MFA App

  1. Open your chosen authenticator app.
  2. Select Add account.
  3. Scan the QR code shown on the screen.
  4. The app will now display 6-digit one-time codes.

5. Confirm the Setup

  1. Enter the current 6-digit code from your app into the field on the website.
  2. Click Confirm.
  3. Save any backup codes provided — you’ll need them if you lose access to your device.

6. Done

MFA is now enabled on your account ✅
From now on, you’ll need to enter both your password and a code from your app to sign in.

Tips & Support

  • Keep your backup codes in a safe place.
  • Consider installing the MFA app on two devices (if supported) for easier recovery.
  • If you need help, create a support request at https://hosting.gl/contact.php.
